Google UK and retail industry partners including the Retail Bulletin, Comscore, Hitwise and the IAB today launched a new iGoogle TM tab to give retail professionals richer business and marketing insights into the retail industry and to help them connect with consumers.
The Retail Bulletin features among a broad selection of leading trade, research and media organisations to offer a dynamic advertising, communications and marketing toolset comprised of 'gadgets' which are customisable through the iGoogle homepage.
The Retail Bulletin and Google designed three gadgets which deliver news, jobs and video vox pops to help marketing professionals connect with consumers. Editor of Retail Bulletin, Mark Higgins, says, "The combination of all the news and information sources on one page - which can be personalised - is a fantastic tool for retailers. We're delighted to be supplying three news sources to the project and look forward to supporting it in the long term".
Guy Phillipson, CEO, the IAB, says ”The IAB is delighted to be working with Google UK on these gadgets to further establish our online presence. Being a permanent fixture on a marketer's iGoogle homepage will aid the IAB to get regularly updated information directly to our target audience."
Peter Fitzgerald, Industry Leader, Retail, Google UK added “In such a dynamic and fast paced industry as retail, it is great to now have a way for leading trade and media companies to supply retail professionals with news on demand in a real-time, efficient and customisable format which will add real value day-to-day.”
Renaud Besnard, B2B Marketing, Google UK, said “It is critical for Google to be actively involved with a leading media outlet such as the Retail Bulletin, which has been very proactive in helping us to prepare exciting content for retail marketing professionals. This is in keeping with our mission to make information universally accessible and useful, as well as driving value for online marketers".
